lillies of the valley were my first planting (translplant from a friend) at my new place – it isn’t spring without them .. (last year I was bereft so I tracked down some Coty ‘Muget des Bois’ – sigh ….. what desperation!

Indeed. And I’m following a bit in your footsteps this year, Laura. We leave for Hawaii Thursday for a week of fun and relaxation. And I’m spending all of September in Italy. I’m really so excited :-)

I’m quite certain that your #1 favorite restaurant was ours too. I couldn’t find where I wrote the name down, but as soon as I saw the name at the top of your list I knew that was it. It wasn’t the easiest to find since it’s far from the maddening crush tucked into a quiet neighborhood. We sat out front and watched as people came home from work, calling to their kids, as we feasted on the best meal we had in Venice. So unpretentious, so authentic, so memorable. I’m glad you found it too! Welcome home!
